So grateful

Do you believe in God?  If you do, do believe He wants what’s best for you?  If you’ve said (or thought) “yes” twice, then let me ask you another question: Do you want to know what God wants for you?

Knowing God’s desire for your life can seem so mysterious and complicated.  I think being in God’s will is simpler than most of us realize.  Look at this scripture: “Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”  1 Thessalonians 5:18

What does God want for my life?  He wants me to be thankful in ALL circumstances. Not “some circumstances,” or “most circumstances,” or “good circumstances.”  All circumstances.  God wants me to be thankful when my car breaks down, when my kid acts up, when the IRS decides to audit me.

Being thankful, studies have shown, is one of the healthiest emotions.  Thankful people live longer and live better.  Gratitude is the antidote to baditude (a bad attitude).  If you don’t have an attitude of gratitude, all you’re left with is an attitude.  In this life, my attitude determines my altitude.  Gratitude can quash depression. You see, gratitude plays a big part in living bigger and better.

OK.  “So how can I give thanks in all circumstances?”  Stay tuned.
