Motives Matter

I believe our motives matter most.  They matter most to God.  They matter most to us, if you take the long range few.

My friend Jim Stephens send me a link to a blog post by Heather Kopp that hit the nail on the head when it comes to motives.  I especially resounded with this paragraph: “As I write this post and wonder if my motives are wholly pure, selfless, and noble, I have to laugh.  I am not wholly good—ever. But because Christ lives in me, so also does a deep goodness that can’t be tainted by the greedy machinations of my ego self.”

When it comes to motives, no on is perfect.  However, we can all filter and purify our motives a little bit today, with God’s help.

Motives matter!
