“You no good …jh#2^7!”

“Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone.”  Luke 18:19, NIV

What did Jesus mean when he said, “No one is good – except God alone”?  What about Mother Theresa?  Wasn’t she good?  How is God good?  Is He super-good?  How does God define good?

Here are two verses from the Bible that mention the word “good.”

Joseph: “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”  Genesis 50:20, NIV

Paul: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.  Genesis 8:28-29, NIV

What do these two verses tell us about God’s definition of ‘good?’

I’m going to thank about that over the weekend and post my thoughts Monday.

Have a GOOD day!

Ken
