Do you believe?

Life-spark: John’s report of Jesus was accurate. (John 19:23-45)

We are nearing the completion of our slow walk through the gospel of John, a book about God, about life, about you.

John doesn’t beat around the bush. He says this book was written for you. Speaking of himself, he says, “The eyewitness to these things has presented an accurate report. He saw it himself and is telling the truth so that you, also, will believe. (John 19:35, MSG)

The Spirit of God guided John as he wrote. John and the Spirit wrote this book with you in mind. Hopefully, if you didn’t believe before you read it, you do now. Or if you did believe before you read it, you believe even more now.

So I have a few questions for you.

Do you believe God knew you would read John’s book? (See John 20:31)

Do you believe John told the truth and was accurate as he wrote the book? (See John 20:35)

Do you believe that Jesus’ life and death fulfilled numerous specific prophecies written long before His birth? (See John 20:34)

Do you believe that Jesus paid your debts? (See John 19:30 – “It is finished” is the term that was stamped on fully paid bills.)

Nicodemus, who first came to Jesus under the cover of night, must have come to believe. He came out of the closet and identified with Jesus in the full light of day.

Life challenge – Because you believe, let someone know today.
