My church has launched into a nine week adventure called Signs of Life.  We are exploring our way through the book of John, looking for signs of life in this vibrant book.  Well over 1,000 people have purchased or received a ‘Blue’ journal for recording signs of life as they read through the fourth gospel.

In his epistle (1 John), as in his gospel (John), John starts by calling Jesus ‘Life’ and saying that when he came to earth he was unstoppable life made visible (the Life-light – John 1:5;9 – The Message) and life made audible (the Word).  “We saw, heard and actually touched Eternal Life (aka – Jesus Christ)!”

What came into existence was Life,  and the Life was Light to live by.  The Life-Light blazed out of the darkness; the darkness couldn’t put it out.  John 1:4-5, MSG

In the beginning (of humans ‘being’), Christ already existed.  All things were made through Him, by Him and for Him.

Before anything else existed,  there was Christ, with God. He has always been alive and is himself God.  John 1:1, TLB
